A Taste To Start
If you combine good flavors, food turns into an orchestra.

Letter From The Tastemaker

Extra Caviar comes from a place of real meaning. It’s not just a name…
Growing up in a Slavic, Belorussian household, we paired caviar with blintzes, pancakes and bread, and it was the norm. It was nearly impossible to have dinner with the family and not see caviar as a condiment on the table.
The distinct salty flavor of caviar would soon be drowned out by pickled vegetables, cold cuts and mayo-dripping salads like Olivye and none of it ever felt like too much.
It was just right.
Old enough to chew? Russian parents would spread butter on black rye bread, smearing caviar on top for their malishi (little ones). The taste of home carried the feelings of belonging. These subtle flavor pairings have lived with me forever.
To my American friends, these flavor pairings are anything but subtle 🤣
Imagine trying to convince someone that spreadable butter (a form of dairy) and caviar, with a distinct fishy savory taste would excite their taste buds when eaten together and instead you’d receive a look of utter horror and disgust.
I’ve been conditioned and maybe I am biased when I say, that without the extra flavor that caviar provides, the dish just wouldn’t be the same…
It’s kind of like going to an Italian friend’s house and telling her to omit the tomato sauce from the spaghetti and meatballs.
It just doesn’t stick. You’d get thrown out faster than Nonna rolling her eyes from the kitchen. Because somethings are meant to go together.
Flavors like this add the extra something you didn’t know you needed.
Extra raw.
Extra bold.
Extra refined.
Any extra touch of something else is an example of how intention leaves an unexpected, yet pleasant signature behind.
Beyond food…
These bold flavors are special because they’re fearless. In life and business, we need that too. That special “something” to push us across the finish line. As economies shift and consumer demand collides into new territories, a great opportunity presents itself: our distinct evolution.
Do we stick to old traditions or embrace the demands of growth?
How do we honor the past while reshaping the future?
Do we introduce innovation as a mindset and not just a method?
Even the most seasoned business owner will tell you that innovation is risky business. Yet still, innovation is the most necessary for staying competitive and relevant in the market.
Despite being information savvy in our tech-advanced world, staying relevant is a race to adapt faster than the noise and thinking wisely beyond just trends. It’s a race to consistently deliver value that resonates…
… and with that comes the need for true differentiation not just in what you offer, but in how, why, and for whom you offer it.
When pursuing the boldness of differentiation and standing in your own power, it seems promising, maybe even intriguing, to follow the masses. They’ve rebranded or introduced a new product category, and it’s working for them. Maybe you should too?
Follow the reigns of Jaguar? KIA? Burberry?
Meanwhile, they are all starting to look the same.
They’re dropping the icons that once grew their empires.
Oh Jaguar…. 😿
But, somehow as a society, we have lost our intentionality and precision exactly by thinking this way. Somehow it became the norm that outdoing each other is differentiation.
Meanwhile 👉 intentionality is more about purpose and quality.
It’s being true to yourself and your values.
It’s being guided less from outside influences and more from your inner knowing.
The luxury lifestyle industries weave their values so distinctly through every fiber of their being, that even small improvements add bricks to new foundations.
They’re intentional.
They don’t imitate.
They carve their own path.
And you should too.
To waste money and time pursuing flattery that levels the playing field but doesn’t exactly deliver long term results—what’s the point of that?
The main idea here is: foundation.
Lead with your story, your values, build up the emotional resonance.
Because when trends die (and they often do), you’ll still be standing strong and timeless.
Ask yourself:
- How can I lead with my story and where is it needed most?
- How do we evolve without erasing the traditions that shaped us?
And, why has caviar never fallen out of flavor, even as trends come and go?

Leading with your story is not just hype…
The most expensive caviars come from rare albino beluga sturgeon with prices up to $25,000 per kilogram. Rarity becomes part of the story by design. A true expansion of thought is when industries collide through inspiration. In 1986, a beautifully delicate beading design inspired by caviar became the story and distinct flavor of what LAGOS is today. Handcrafted through a meticulous process by skilled artisans to ensure each piece reflects LAGOS's dedication to elegance and quality.
LAGOS - Caviar Collection
⚫ The beading isn’t just decoration. It is engineered so the jewelry “moves with the body and feels like a second skin” (The Row).
⚫ Each piece undergoes a hundreds‐of‐steps manufacturing process (in artisan ateliers) to achieve the lustrous, nestling bead texture.
⚫ While sterling silver and 18k gold are staples, Lagos has introduced ceramic, colored ceramic and other modern materials with their commitment to innovation.
⚫ LAGOS's design atelier in Bangkok plays a significant role in the development of the Caviar collection, blending global design influences with traditional craftsmanship.
